Schmidt + Clemens GmbH + Co. KG is a stainless steel plant founded in 1879 by Ludwig Schmidt and Wilhelm Clemens in Frankfurt am Main .

history

Shortly after it was founded, the company in Leppetal acquired one of the iron hammers made in the early 19th century . The company's main plant was built on the site of these water-powered hammers.

Today, the Schmidt + Clemens Group produces stainless steel system components from molded and centrifugal castings and has branches in Great Britain , the Czech Republic , Spain , the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Malaysia . The subsidiary S + C Märker, also at the Kaiserau location, deals with the refinement of forged components made of stainless steel (heat treatment, mechanical processing). S + C Extrusion Tooling Solutions has specialized in the manufacture of tools for the extrusion industry and operates a relining center at the Lindlar location. In 2012, ETS opened a service center in Tianjin, China . The British subsidiary Bowers & Jones has a sales office at the Group's headquarters.

At the headquarters in Kaiserau there are three S + C companies that manufacture stainless steel components and systems. In addition to the German parent company, S + C produces at six other locations worldwide.

Sales

In 2013, the group generated sales of EUR 310 million (2012: EUR 274 million), 84.8 percent of which came from the centrifugal casting - petrochemicals sector , and employed 980 people (2012: 1,016).
