The Schmiedegrundsee is a lake near Neuensund in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
The approximately 11-hectare body of water is located in the municipality of Strasburg (Uckermark) , 1.5 kilometers east of the center of Neuensund. The lake has no natural tributaries. However, water flows off to Lake Galenbeck through a ramified system of rifts in the east . There is a swimming area on the northern shore of the lake. The maximum extent of the Schmiedegrundsee is about 470 by 440 meters. The lake is also designated for fishing and is home to species of fish such as pike , eel , perch , lead , bream , rudd , roach and carp .
