Construction site in Copenhagen 2017

The København – Ringsted high - speed line is a double-track high - speed line in Denmark . It is the first high-speed line in Denmark.

The construction of the line was estimated at 10.4 billion DKK . The opening took place on May 31, 2019.

Chronology of the construction phase

The construction of the 60 km-long route parallel to the motorway began on September 6, 2012.

On September 13, 2016, the "groundbreaking" took place for the construction of the station Køge North instead. After completion of the station, 90 000 passengers.

On September 28, 2016, the Minister of Transport, Hans Christian Schmidt, awarded the company Strukton Rail A / S the official order to lay the superstructure of the 60 km long new line. Work began on November 1st, 2016 in Ringsted and lasted until May 1st, 2017. The first section was from Ringsted to Køge Nord Station, then the line to Hvidovre followed . The short section Hvidovre – Vigerslev was relocated from February 1, 2017 after the two tunnels in Hvidovre and Valby were completed.

The 300 m long track construction train laid around 1800 m track per day. Long rails with a mass of 60 meters were installed kg and delivery lengths of 120 m. A total of 180 000 concrete sleepers with a mass of 300 each kg installed.

The redesign of the Ringsted train station began in January 2017. The renovation includes 16 km of track systems and 24 points. The renovation of the station should be completed by the end of 2018. The foundations of the overhead line masts in Hvidovre and from March 2017 in the section between Ishøj and Vallensbæk have also been laid since then .

The second construction phase began with the electrification of the line on May 1, 2017, and the new ETCS Level 2 train control system was installed at the same time . This work should be completed by February 1, 2018. Because of delays in equipping the multiple units with ETCS, the previous ATC train control system also had to be installed. This delayed the commissioning of the electrical equipment until mid-August. Initially, with ATC, the maximum speed is 180 km / h and only counted with one train journey in each direction. The commissioning tests should begin at the end of August. The opening of the route was postponed from December 9, 2018 to May 2019.

business

The route was opened on May 31, 2019 by Frederik of Denmark . Despite the possibility of high-speed transport, there are no trains in Denmark that can reach this speed. With the timetable change on December 15, 2019, the DSB will change the currently valid timetable. This shortens the travel time between Copenhagen and Ringsted by five minutes, and between Næstved and Copenhagen by nine minutes. The construction costs of the route remained with nine billion under the estimate of ten billion crowns .

From July 8, 2019, the multi-train system on the route was released, which replaces the previous manual monitoring of only one possible train on the route. In addition, the timetable was condensed from this date and the permissible top speed increased from 120 km / h to 180 km / h.
