Chiraw is a Dutch melodic death metal band from Almelo that was formed in 2006.
history
The band was formed in January 2006. After writing their first five songs, she recorded and released the EP Resurrection that same year . The band held various live performances and in 2006 won the Aardschok / Jägermeister Metal Bash competition . During this time the band continued to work on new songs and in 2007 hit the studio to record their debut album, Dark Frequencies . The songs were mixed by Gerwin Bruins and mixed by Jochem Jacobs ( Textures ). In the summer of 2008 the band signed a contract with Rusty Cage Records , so that on October 15, 2008 the album was released on this label. The publication was followed by various other appearances and appeared together with bands such as Sepultura , Textures, Hatesphere , Volbeat , Madina Lake and Dry Kill Logic . In September 2009, the band went again with Jochen Jacobs to the Split Second Sound Studio in Amsterdam to record the second album Scarecrow and Lullabies . In the same year keyboardist Gijs Grootelaar left the band and was replaced by Peter Schmitz in May 2009. Scarecrow and Lullabies was released in 2011.

The band plays classic melodic death metal, the music being comparable to the works of Soilwork and Mercenary .
