Dry Kill Logic is an American nu-metal band formed in Westchester , New York in 1993 . From the first major label release, however, they went heavily into the hardcore and metalcore area .

history

Dry Kill Logic emerged from the band Hinge, who founded their own label Psychodrama Records after they had not been signed by any label. It was there that their first EP came out in 1997 under the title Cause Moshing is Good Fun . This release helped them to open up for bands like Exodus and Pro Pain . In 1998 the band members went back to the studio and recorded their second EP Elemental Evil with Andy Katz . This was followed by appearances in the opening act of bands such as Coal Chamber , Incubus , Anthrax or System of a Down . Even during the tour there were problems with the guitarist, who then left the band. After that they took a break for a while, and it wasn't until the end of 1999 that they found a new guitarist in Scott Thompson.

In 2000 the band got a recording deal with Roadrunner Records . Since the band members did not have the rights to the band name Hinge, they were forced to get a new band name. They came across the term Dry Kill Logic in the instructions for an effects amplifier. In 2001 they recorded their debut album The Darker Side of Nonsense . The record showed strong similarities to bands like Fear Factory and Slipknot and was therefore in the trend of those years.

Again there were problems with the guitarist and the bassist as well as the label. The latter was parted with in particular because of its demand for a more marketable sound for the upcoming new album. After another pause, Dry Kill Logic finally signed with SPV / Steamhammer. Jason Bozzi was hired as the new guitarist and Danny Horboychuck as the new bassist. The band then worked on the album The Dead And Dreaming , which came out in 2004. In 2006 the third EP The Magellan Complex was released , which can also be played on DVD , and a few months later the band's current album, Of Vengeance and Violence .

Thirteen years after the last album, the comeback single "Vices" was released on September 6, 2019. More singles and EPs are to follow.
