The Schobse is a brook in the Ilm district in Thuringia . It is about 10 km long. The Schobsequelle is located on the Großer Dreiherrenstein near Frauenwald in the Thuringian Forest . It flows in a north-easterly direction to Gehren , where it flows into the Wohlrose .

In the Schobsetal above Gehren there is a mine for the extraction of fluorspar . It was shut down in 1991, but reopened in 2005, as the world market price for Spat rose significantly during this period and further dismantling seemed worthwhile again. However, the landscape of the Schobsetal was partially destroyed by the heap created by the mine .

Between the Schobsemühle and the city of Gehren, the high-speed line Nuremberg – Erfurt crosses the stream on the 87-meter-long Schobsetalbrücke.
