The Wohlrose is a river in the Ilm district in Thuringia . At 17.6 km, it is the longest tributary of the Ilm .

The Wohlrose just before it flows into the Ilm. The weir serves to feed a former mill stream to the Annawerk

The headwaters on the Rennsteig in the Thuringian Forest include Ochsenbach , Höllbach and Ebersbach near Neustadt . From there it flows in a north-easterly direction to Gehren , where it picks up the Schobse . It then flows through the nature reserve Pennewitzer Teiche and Unteres Wohlrosetal before it flows into the Ilm at Gräfinau-Angstedt .

In the Wohlrose Valley, near Möhrenbach, a 150 meter long bridge on the Nuremberg – Erfurt high-speed line was built.
