Shuachewi ( Georgian შუახევი ) is a minority town in the Adjara Autonomous Republic of Georgia .

It is the administrative center of the municipality of the same name . Shuakhevi located 67 kilometers east of Batumi at the mouth of the river Tschiruchiszqali in Acharistsqali . In 2014 Shuachewi had 797 inhabitants.

After the place had been the seat of a Rajon as a village since the 1950s , from which the later municipality emerged, in 1974 it was given the status of an urban-type settlement , corresponding to a present-day minor or small town (Georgian daba, დაბა ).

The ruins of a medieval fortress have been preserved in the city.
