history
The current school building was built in 1809. In 1818 today's school was founded as a "German grammar school". From 1850 it was the second German grammar school in Lemberg. On February 7, 1919, the Polish state issued a government decree that from now on Polish would be taught in class instead of German. Partner school
- Kundmanngasse grammar school ( Vienna , Austria ): Since 1997 there has been a close connection to the Landstraßer grammar school in Vienna, Austria, through the intermediary of “Austria Cooperation”. 7th grade students from Vienna visit Lviv every year. In Lviv itself, they live with the families of the local students. In this way they get to know the very different Ukrainian way of life, take part in sightseeing, excursions and social events and practice learning a few terms in the Ukrainian language. In return, they support the German lessons there, which traditionally have a particularly high priority. A group of Ukrainian students spends a week in Vienna each September with the students on Kundmanngasse.
