history

prehistory

Towards the end of the 1950s, many school reformers across the country called for “equal opportunities for pupils in small communities”. At that time, the pupils of such communities usually attended dwarf schools, which, however, could no longer meet the growing educational standards and were often overcrowded due to the increased number of pupils due to the influx of displaced persons and the baby boom . At the same time, the former Harzburg office was considering amalgamation of municipalities: After Harlingerode failed with a merger with Schlewecke in 1954 shortly before the decision, the Schlewecke municipality offered the Bündheim municipality its previous school by building a new school center on the Deilich , a field piece Schlewecker area to expand. The Bündheim municipal council accepted the suggestion and therefore decided not to build an extension on Dr.-Heinrich-Jasper-Straße . Corresponding financing was obtained from the SPD in the district council of Wolfenbüttel . In March 1960, following an architectural competition, the planning contract was issued via a special purpose association operated by both communities.

Construction work on the Deilich began on March 15, 1973, and the Wolfenbüttel district approved four million DM for the construction.

Today's school on the Deilich

Due to the falling number of pupils, the district council of the district of Goslar decided to merge the previous school at the Gläsecke (secondary school with integrated 10th grade) and the Bad Harzburg secondary school . The merger took place in the 2009/2010 school year.

The name was set to Schule an der Deilich in the school year 2010/2011 through a pupil survey .

On August 1, 2011, the previous secondary and secondary school was converted into a secondary school called Oberschule Bad Harzburg .
