The Nordhaide school center is a school center at Schleißheimer Strasse 510 in Munich- Am Hart .

description

The school center houses three schools: the municipal Robert Bosch technical college for economics (FOS) with 809 students in 30 classes, the municipal Nelson Mandela vocational school for economics (until 2018 the municipal vocational school for economics ; BOS) with 472 students in 20 classes and, as the smallest, the municipal college for curative education (FAH) with 45 students in two classes.

The Nordhaide school center was opened in September 2015. The approximately 20,000 square meter property is located east of Schleißheimer Straße near Dülferstraße, in the catchment area of the Nordhaide settlement in the west of Panzerwiese . Opposite is the Mira shopping center . The four- and five-story building was realized by Schulz and Schulz Architects . The building is bright and functional with clear structures. If you enter the large foyer through the main entrance in the south, you can see the meadows of the Nordhaide through the opposite window front. The triple gymnasium with a maximum of 200 seats in the stands is also available to the clubs in the district and therefore also has a separate entrance. The construction costs of the school center amounted to approx. 50 million euros. The school has a photovoltaic system with a module area of 620 square meters that feeds around 93,000 kilowatt hours of electricity into the public grid every year. The vocational school had to wait 26 years for it to be built. The school center is connected to local public transport via the Dülferstraße underground station .

architectural art

The work “Tree Nursery” by the Rotterdam artist collective “Observatorium” was realized on the school site as part of QUIVID, the art-in-building program of the city of Munich: It represents a “tilted” classroom . The room was 1: 1 in Reconstructed concrete and placed upright on one side. A tree was planted in place of the instruction board. The sculpture transports the inside of the school building to the outside and thus gives the forecourt a symbolic landmark for lessons, encounters and education. It marks the entrance to the district and invites you to meet and linger with the seating elements that surround the tree.
