Swabian Art Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Swabian Art Prize is an annually awarded art prize for the fine arts in the administrative district of Swabia . After a break of several years (since 2009), the art prize was awarded again in 2013. It is currently (2015) endowed with 5,000 euros.

organizer

The Kreissparkasse Augsburg , in cooperation with the Professional Association of Visual Artists Schwaben-Nord and Augsburg, acted as the organizer until 2008 . In 2009, however, the Kreissparkasse withdrew its involvement. In 2012, the Swabian district continued the tradition and again awarded an art prize for 2013.

In the past, the exhibition for the Swabian Art Prize in Augsburg showed a cross-section of the work of artists in the region. All artists born in Swabia and the members of the two professional associations in Swabia (BBK Schwaben-Nord and Augsburg, BBK Schwaben-Süd) up to the age of 35 are invited to participate.

The initiative for this project originally arose from the continuous cultural commitment of the Kreissparkasse Augsburg, which also financed a catalog with which the artists could supplement their application documents.
