Edith Baumann (painter)
Edith Baumann (also Edith Baumann-Maussner , artist name Edit ; * October 18, 1942 in Wagerberg ( Styria ) / Austria ; † November 19, 2008 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a freelance German painter of the Informel style .
Life
Edith Baumann was born in Styria in 1942 and came to her future home in Immenstadt via North Rhine-Westphalia . She came to art autodidactically . She completed an artistic training at the state-recognized Huber painting school in Munich and studied painting with Josef Mikl in Vienna. She also completed further training with the academic painter Arnulf Heimhofer in Burgberg im Allgäu . She later taught at the Oberallgäuer Volkshochschule OVH, and exhibited her works in galleries, e.g. B. in Hamburg , Düsseldorf , also Yokohamaout. In Swabia she was to be found at all national exhibitions.
Edith Baumann was a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK) Schwaben-Süd and married the painter Manfred Maussner (* 1940 in Nuremberg; † December 2008 in Tiefenbach ).
style
Edith Baumann preferred the informal style. In her early years she made the colors she used herself, later she preferred acrylic colors ; the backgrounds they painted were different - from cardboard to acrylic glass . Furthermore, she often provided her partly large-format works with collage parts . She signed her work with Edit .
Exhibitions
She had exhibitions in the German Center, (Shin-Yokohama), in the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava and in the Palais Thurn und Taxis in Bregenz. She also took part in the annual exhibition Die Südliche (2003-2008). The exhibition in memoriam , pictures by Edith Baumann, took place posthumously in the Art-Land gallery , Immenstadt . In addition, some of her works are in public space:
