Arnulf Heimhofer

Arnulf Heimhofer (born December 19, 1930 in Burgberg im Allgäu ) is a German painter.

biography

After attending secondary school , apprenticeship as a carpenter and doing an internship as a church painter, Heimhofer attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . There he studied with Herrmann Kaspar until 1960. Since 1965 he has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Burgberg im Allgäu. In July 2011 Heimhofer opened his new gallery in the former gymnasium and sports hall in Burgberg.

style

Heimhofer's preferred tools are oil on canvas, watercolors and pencil on paper. Typical for him are a multiple overpainting and improvement of the work. In his pictures, some of which are very large-format, he focuses on coasts, landscapes with mountains, groups of figures, still lifes, houses and women's heads.

Awards

Other professional activities

Heimhofer was on the board of the Professional Association of Visual Artists Swabian South for two decades, nine years of which was its chairman. He founded the exhibitions in Füssen and Irsee . Heimhofer has also set up a development association for the fine arts.
