SchwabenMalz is the amalgamation of three independent malting houses in the legal form of a GmbH with headquarters in Baustetten in Upper Swabia, a suburb of Laupheim in the Biberach district . What all three sites have in common is that they represent landmarks in their respective natural surroundings.
history
In 2000 the malting plants Fäsermalz from Giengen an der Brenz , the malt factory Ludwig Zimmermann from Baustetten and Warthauser Malz, Warthausen merged to form SchwabenMalz GmbH. They produce around 75,000 tons of malt from brewing barley or brewing wheat at the three production sites . Her customers are around 100 independent, small, medium-sized and large breweries in Baden-Württemberg , Bavaria , Hesse , North Rhine-Westphalia , Austria , the Confederation and South Tyrol . The individual group companies have been involved in the production of brewing malt for a long time:
- Warthauser malt in Warthausen, 1837
- FaserMalz in Giengen an der Brenz, 1872
- Malt factory Ludwig Zimmermann in Baustetten, 1928
For special types of malt made from the raw materials spelled, emmer, millet or oats, SchwabenMalz provides a test malt house .
