The federal highway 87 leads past Schwabsdorf to the southeast . The village is located in the northwest of Wiegendorf in an arable area between Weimar and Apolda at 250 meters above sea level .
history
On November 22, 1136 the place was first mentioned as Swavestorpe in a document from Countess Kunigunde von Beichlingen for the Oldisleben monastery . The main occupation of the residents was agriculture. In the past there was also viticulture. On March 1, 1974 Schwabsdorf became a district of Wiegendorf. The place belongs to the parish Mellingen-Umpferstedt.
