The village of Schwaighausen is part of the municipality of Holzgünz in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria .

geography
The place is about four kilometers northeast of the independent city of Memmingen and one kilometer southwest of Holzgünz. The A96 runs 600 m southeast of the village .
history
Schwaighausen was 8 to 10 century from a from Günztal of cleared pasture Schwaige . The first documentary mention is from 1315, when Konrad von Rothenstein transferred a yard to the Memmingen Heiliggeistspital. In the Middle Ages the village was part of the Eisenburg rule. In the course of time it splintered to different landlords, at the end of the 18th century there were ten of them. According to a sales deed, Schwaighausen consisted of three farms and two Sölden in the 15th century .
The former community of Schwaighausen was incorporated into Holzgünz on May 1, 1978.
Attractions
In the center of the village is the St. Franz Xaver chapel, built in 1748. The rococo altar from 1752, the colorful nave ceiling, the wooden figure of St. Sebastian and two small half-figures from the early 16th century are well worth seeing.
