Railway stations in Baden-Württemberg |
The Schrozberg Station is an operating agency of the railway line Crailsheim-Königshofen . It is located in Schrozberg in the Schwäbisch Hall district in Baden-Württemberg .
history
The station building was built in 1869. On October 23, 1869, the Royal Württemberg State Railways opened the station with the Crailsheim - Mergentheim section .
In the Schrozberg railway accident on June 11, 2003, two Regional Express trains collided on the open stretch north of the station. Six people were killed and 25 others injured.
The station was extensively modernized from October to November 2019.
Investments
Today only the two platform tracks are left in the station. All sidings have been removed or are no longer connected.
Until 2019 the station was equipped with a mechanical interlocking of the standard design in the reception building and form signals . In November 2019, the Westfrankenbahn put a simplified electronic interlocking (ESTW-R) into operation, which is controlled from the Niederstetten control center.
In Schrozberg there will be train crossings according to the schedule (as of 2020).
The reception building is privately owned; Deutsche Bahn is still the tenant for the signal box. Business premises were set up on the ground floor, and two rental apartments were built on the upper floor. The community of Schrozberg supported the renovation measures with funds from urban redevelopment.
Monument protection
The former station building and a neighboring building ( Bahnhofstrasse 10, 12 ) are available as other monuments under monument protection and are part of the entirety of railway line Bad Mergentheim-Crailsheim: Württembergische Tauber Valley Railway with train stations, out-buildings, bridges, railway tracks and sämtlichem stationary and mobile accessories.
