Schwarz-Weiß Düren (officially: Spielvereinigung Schwarz-Weiß 1896 eV Düren ) was a sports club from Düren . The first soccer team played for seven years in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region. A successor club of the same name was founded in 2005.

history

The association was created in 1947 through the merger of Jugend Düren with the Rölsdorfer SV, founded in 1905 . Youth Düren, actually the Association for Youth and Folk Games Düren , was the more successful parent club. They reached the final round of the West German Championship in 1911 and 1920 . After the merger, in 1950 the company was promoted to the Landesliga Mittelrhein, the highest amateur league at the time. After a year they were relegated from this and in 1952 they missed the rise as runner-up behind Jugend 07 Bergheim . Three years later, the Dürener had to relegate to the district class. The rise was achieved in 1957, before the black and white managed to march through to the state league. However, after the introduction of the Mittelrhein Association League, this was only the second highest amateur league.

The league in the 1958/59 season only succeeded after playoffs against Rhineland Dremmen and SC Gleuel . After a sixth place in 1961, a year later only after a 5-2 play-off win against Adler Büsbach succeeded in relegation. Finally, in 1963, the Dürener went back to the district class. After several years in the lower divisions, the third promotion to the national league finally succeeded in 1981. After a third place in 1984, the black and whites were runner-up behind SC Erkelenz 09 five years later . A play-off victory against SpVg Frechen 20 made it possible for them to be promoted to the Mittelrhein Association. The sporting highlight of the club's history was the fifth place in the association league season 1989/90. Four years later, the team was relegated from the association league and made direct resurgence. After only one year, it went back to the national league in 1997. Four years later, Schwarz-Weiß Düren merged with SG Düren 99 to become SG Schwarz-Weiß Düren 99 .

Successor club of the same name

After disputes at board level, SpVgg Schwarz-Weiß Düren was re-established in 2005. The first team has played in the district league since 2015. In 2016, the promotion to the state league was only just missed. A year later, the rise succeeded, which was followed by direct relegation in 2018.
