The Schwarzensee (often just Schwarzsee ) is a mountain lake in the Zillertal Alps at an altitude of 2472  m above sea level. A.

The Karsee is located southwest on the Zsigmondyspitze in the rearmost Zemmgrund . Above in the Roßkar is the smaller ice lake  2674  m above sea level. A. , who today is the source of the Zemmbach . The municipality border Finkenberg - Mayrhofen runs in the lake.

The lake can be reached on the Berliner Höhenweg north-east from the Berliner Hütte , from where you can also cross the ice lake to the Melkerscharte and over it to the Gunggl .
