The nurses' home is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The nurses' home was built in 1934 as a retirement home for the deaconry sisters according to plans by the architect Eugen Seibert .
Stylistically, the two-story building belongs to the category of the International Style of the early 1930s.
Typical of this architectural style are the unadorned, smoothly plastered facades , the stairwell with the rounded corners, the protruding rounded balconies and the horizontal glass fronts with rounded corners ; that structure the staircase horizontally and emphasize it as the only piece of jewelery.
Stylistically, the nurses' home is very similar to the Alice Hospital ; which was planned by Eugen Seibert at the same time and for the same client .
Monument protection
For architectural and city-historical reasons, the nurses' home is a cultural monument .
