Scipione de Tolfa

Scipione de Tolfa (* around 1545, † 1595 ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman.

Life

The Neapolitan priest , who was nominated by the Spanish king and was not yet thirty , was appointed Archbishop of Trani on December 10, 1576 . Half of the servitia to be paid to the college of cardinals was deferred for six months. The award of the pallium took place on February 25, 1577. On December 20, 1593 Scipione was appointed Archbishop of Acerenza and Matera and on January 7, 1594 received the pallium again. In this office he died in 1595, his successor Giovanni Myra was appointed in March 1596.
