Scott Barrie

Scott Barrie (born March 10, 1962 in St Andrews ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party .

In the 1999 Scottish general election , Barrie won the direct mandate of the constituency of Dunfermline West and moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament . In the 2003 parliamentary elections , he defended the constituency, but lost in the 2007 parliamentary elections the candidate of the Liberal Democrats , Jim Tolson . Since Barrie was not listed as a candidate for the electoral region , he missed re-entry into parliament.

Career

Scott attended the Auchmuty High School in Glenrothes and then the University of Edinburgh , which he left with a master's degree . Then Barrie earned the Certificate of Qualification in Social Work ( CQSW ) from the University of Stirling and a Diploma from the University of Dundee . Between 1986 and 1991 Barrie worked as a social worker for the Fife area and then as a group leader until 1999. After his election to the Scottish Parliament, he dealt with the topics of transport and children and young people.

Barrie is a single and a supporter of the Dunfermline Athletic football team .
