Scott Kelby (born July 7, 1960 in Lakeland , Florida ) is an American photographer and non-fiction author.

Kelby is the author of numerous books on Adobe Photoshop , digital photography, and Mac OS . He is also the publisher and editor of Photoshop User and Layers magazines and editor-in-chief of Darkroom magazine . He is President and Co-Founder of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KW Media Group , which publishes both the aforementioned magazines and Kelby's books. Kelby also conducts seminars and conferences on Photoshop and related Adobe products and participates in a Photoshop video podcast ( Photoshop User TV ), which he moderates with changing co-tutors such as Matt Kloskowski and Dave Cross .

Kelby is married and has two children.

Awards

In both 2006 and the previous two years, Kelby was the top-selling computer book author in the United States, according to Nielsen BookScan. In the period from 2001 to May 2007 over a million of his books were sold, the work The Digital Photography Book sold around 140,000 copies worldwide in a period of eight months.

The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers received the 2004 Benjamin Franklin Award from the Independent Book Publishers Association.
