Scott Pfeifer (born January 5, 1977 in St. Albert ) is a Canadian curler. He currently plays as a substitute for Kevin Koe's team .

Career

Pfeifer started his international career at the Junior World Championships in 1994 as second in the Canadian junior team around Skip Colin Davison. The Canadians moved into the play-offs and defeated the German team around Skip Daniel Herberg in the final . At the Junior World Championship in 1998 he played fourth under Ryan Keane and won the bronze medal.

From 1998 to 2010 he played second in Randy Ferbey's team . With this team he won his first gold medal at the 2002 World Cup ; in the final, the Canadians defeated the Norwegian team with Skip Pål Trulsen . At the 2003 World Cup he was able to defend the title with Fereby by beating Switzerland in the final (Skip Ralph Stöckli ). The third gold medal he won at the 2005 World Cup ; in the final the Canadians prevailed against Scotland with Skip David Murdoch .

After a curling break, he played second in Jamie King's team in the 2012/2013 season.

At the 2016 World Cup , he played as a substitute for Skip Kevin Koe's Canadian team. The team moved into the final and defeated the Danes around Rasmus Stjerne , so that Pfeifer won his fourth gold medal. In November 2017, Team Koe won the Canadian Roar of the Rings for the 2018 Winter Olympics with Pfeifer as a substitute . In January 2018 he was nominated by the Canadian Federation as a substitute for the Canadian men's team at the Winter Olympics. In Pyeongchang, the Canadian team was in second place after six wins and three defeats after the Round Robin . In the semifinals, the Canadians lost to Team USA led by John Shuster and the game for third place against Switzerland with Skip Peter de Cruz was also lost. It was the first time a Canadian men's team failed to win a medal at the Winter Olympics.
