Pål Trulsen (born April 19, 1962 in Drøbak ) is a Norwegian curler and Olympic champion .

1980 and 1981 Trulsen took part in the Junior World Championships, but could not qualify for the semi-finals. After participating in the European Championships in 1981 and 1982, he returned to the junior category and won the silver medal at the Junior World Championship in 1983.

It took over nine years before Trulsen was able to reach the top of the world again. At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, he finished second after losing to Urs Dick's Swiss team in the final . The silver medal won does not have any official status, as curling was still a demonstration sport at that time.

Trulsen took part in the World Championships in 1993, 1997, 1999 and 2000, but came away empty-handed. He won the bronze medal at the 2001 World Championships in Lausanne . A year later, at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , the Norwegian team beat the favorite Canadians in the final with Skip Kevin Martin and Trulsen became Olympic champion.

This was followed by a second place at the 2002 World Cup in Bismarck , a third place at the 2003 World Cup in Winnipeg and a third place at the 2004 European Championship in Sofia . At the EM 2005 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , the Norwegians defeated the Swedish team with Skip Peter Lindholm and Trulsen became European champions in the final .

Trulsen has indicated that he will step down after the 2006 Winter Olympics . At this tournament he could not qualify for the semifinals.

Trulsen is the brother-in-law of Olympic curling champion Lars Vågberg .
