Scott Township is located in the northwest of Adams County in southwest Ohio, is about 40 km to the south from the Ohio River , which forms the natural border with Kentucky , and is bordered clockwise by the townships: Jackson Township in Highland County , Bratton Township , Meigs Township , Oliver Township , Wayne Township , Winchester Township and Concord Township in Highland County.

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two people are elected in the year after the presidential election and one in the year before. The term of office usually lasts four years and begins on January 1st.
