The Scylla Glacier is a large glacier in Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . In the Prince Charles Mountains it flows in an easterly direction between the Athos Range and the Porthos Range to the Amery Ice Shelf .
It was discovered in December 1956 by participants in a campaign of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions led by Australian mountaineer William Gordon Bewsher (1924–2012) and named after Scylla , a sea monster from Greek mythology, because of the inhospitable nature of the area .
