Sead Lipovača

Sead "Zele" Lipovača (born August 31, 1955 in Bihać ) is a Bosnian singer and guitarist .

life and work

He is the front man of the hard rock band Divlje jagode and one of the best solo guitarists in the former Yugoslavia .

He studied foreign trade in Zagreb . He played in groups such as Novi Akordi, Biseri, Selekcija and Zenit, and in April 1977 he founded the band Divlje jagode with singer Ante Janković and bassist Nihad Jusufhodžić , who were also in the group Zenit.

The group Divlje jagode is still active today, but with the new line-up: Zele Lipovača (guitar), Ante Janković (vocals), Thomas Balaž (drums) and Zlatan Čehić-Ćeha (bass, vocals).

Lipovača has sold more than 4 million albums and at least ten albums with Divlje jagode and one solo album. He returned to Zagreb in 2000; before that he lived in Great Britain and Germany .

Well-known hits of the group include Motori (motorcycles), ballads like Krivo je more (guilt is the sea), Jedina moja (my only true one), Sarajevo ti i ja (Sarajevo you and me) and the rock version of the famous Bosnian folk song Moj dilbere which is usually sung by a woman.

Divlje jagode have gained some popularity in the UK , Finland , Italy , America and Australia and the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
