Seaford is a coastal town and civil parish in the English county of East Sussex and is located on the south coast east of Newhaven and west of Eastbourne . The population in 2011 was around 23,500.
Seaford Head Community College is located in Seaford . The Seven Sisters are to the east of the city . It also boasts the westernmost Martello Towers on the south coast of England. The towers in the small coastal town now house a museum.
history
The city was represented in parliament by three deputies who later held the office of prime minister. Henry Pelham represented them from 1717 to 1722, William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham from 1747 to 1754, and George Canning in 1827.
Seaford was a Rotten borough until the Reform Act 1832 , when it was merged with the Lewes constituency . However, it has only been a community (civil parish) since 1999, after years without membership in a community. From 1894 to 1974 Seaford was an urban district .
The local council was the only one in the Lewes District to be recognized by the government for its qualities. With this award, partnerships and obligations for the city are much less complicated than usual.

Since May 20, 1984 Seaford has been the twin town of Bönningstedt in the Schleswig-Holstein district of Pinneberg . Seaford is also twin town of Crivitz in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Others
Art historian and double agent Anthony Blunt went to school in town. Also, Seaford is the birthplace of actor Oscar Lloyd .
With Peter White, Seaford has one of the longest-running town hawkers in England and Wales, who was appointed in 1977 by the Lewes district administration.
With the Seaford Lifeguards , the city has a group of lifeguards. They work unpaid and guard the local beaches.
