Sean Oppenheimer

Sean Oppenheimer (born October 7, 1967 in Melbourne ) was a member of the Nauruan Parliament for the constituency of Anetan from 2016 to 2019 .

Oppenheimer first attended the primary schools in Yaren and Aiwo and for a year the Nauru Secondary School in Yaren. He continued his education at the Caulfield Grammer School in Melbourne. From 1985 to 1988 he completed a training program for managers at the Australian retail group Coles Myer . From 1989 to 2009 he was general manager of the Nauruan trading company Capelle & Partner , since 2010 he has been its director. Since 2008 he has been President of the Nauru Boxing Federation , since 2013 Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Nauru . In 2014 he was Chef de Mission of the Nauruan team at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , and in 2016 at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Also at the Commonwealth Games 2010 he was the chief de mission of the Nauruan team. From 2011 to 2016 he was Israel's Honorary Consul in Nauru.

In the parliamentary elections in Nauru in 2016 , Oppenheimer achieved the highest number of votes in the Anetan constituency and became a member of parliament. He did not run again in the next election in 2019 .

Oppenheimer is a businessman by profession, he is married and has five children.
