The Sebastian-Münster Gymnasium (abbreviation SMG ) is a high school in the city center of Ingelheim am Rhein in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The main focus of the grammar school is mathematical, scientific and bilingual. In the 2015/16 school year, 1806 students attended the Sebastian-Münster-Gymnasium. This makes it one of the largest high schools in Rhineland-Palatinate.
history
In 1890 the school was founded as the Ober-Ingelheim Higher Citizens School . In 1951 the name was changed to the current name after Sebastian Münster, who was born in Nieder-Ingelheim .
The cafeteria, which was built in 9 months, was opened on October 24, 2008. It cost a total of three million euros. Since the school year 2008/09, the school has been available for fifth and second graders as an all-day school.
In the course of time this school has participated with numerous teams in different sports in the competition "Youth trains for the Olympics"; she also participates in math competitions and other championships.
