Sebastian Harrer

Sebastian Harrer (* 1977 in Mühldorf am Inn ) is a German filmmaker, screenwriter, advertising and feature film director.

Life & Education

Sebastian Harrer made his first cinematic steps in his school days. After graduating from high school, he began training as a theater and film director at the Athanor Academy for the Performing Arts in Burghausen. He has been realizing his own projects since 2002 and is active in the industrial, trade fair and advertising film sectors. In addition to his studies, Harrer worked as an assistant director for Bayerischer Rundfunk.

Works

In 2006, after various short film projects , he presented his first feature film Atina & Herakles . This project was created in co-production with Daniel Zuta Film and Cine Images. The film was funded by the FFF Munich and the MFG Baden-Württemberg and was released on DVD under the title Cheap fuel in Tibet .

In 2013 Harrer shot the award-winning music video Zombie Nation for the punk rock band "Adams Apple".

Awards & publications

In 2006 Atina & Herakles was nominated as the best young film at the Biberach Film Festival and in 2008 won a bronze bear at the Festival of Nations in Ebensee, Austria .

Angustia was presented as part of the “Shocking Shorts Award” 2010 on July 1, 2010 at the Munich Film Festival and took part in numerous national and international festivals, including a. 21st São Paulo International Short Film Festival , 25th Brest European Short Film Festival , Bram Stoker Horror Film Festival Whitby, Open Eyes Filmfest Marburg , Kenya International Film Festival Nairobi, New Orleans Horror Film Festival, Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis , Green Bay Film Festival, Grenzlandfilmtage Same.

Angustia (2010) has been running regularly on SKY channel 13th Street since June 2010 , and the film was broadcast on Tele 5 in November 2010 .

Cinderella 3.0 premiered at the Biofiction Festival in Vienna, opened the Landshut Film Festival in 2012, was one of the winners of the Screens for Shorts in Cologne and the 2011 film sharing tour. The film also took part in over 40 other international festivals and won numerous prizes. In October 2012 the film was nominated for the best short film as well as for the best science fiction film at the “I'VE SEEN FILMS Festival” initiated by the actor Rutger Hauer. The jury (including Robert Rodriguez, Jason Eisner and Joan Chen) awarded Cinderella 3.0 the prize for the best science fiction film.
