Sebastian Kühner (born March 15, 1987 in East Berlin ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Sebastian Kühner began his career as a setter at SV Preußen Berlin . He later moved to SCC Berlin . In 2006 he made his Bundesliga debut at VC Olympia Berlin . After a year at the VCO, he went to SV Bayer Wuppertal . From 2008 to 2010 he played for evivo Düren and from 2010 to 2012 for Chemie Volley Mitteldeutschland . Since 2012 Sebastian Kühner has been playing again in his hometown for the Berlin Recycling Volleys . In 2013 and 2014 he became German champions with Berlin. At the end of 2013, Kühner made his first appearances in the German national team . At the 2014 World Cup he won the bronze medal with the national team and the gold medal at the 2015 European Games in Baku . In 2016 Kühner was again German champion with the Berliners and won the DVV Cup and the CEV Cup . In 2017, 2018 and 2019 Kühner won the national championship titles number four, five and six. Then he ended his volleyball career. In the following season, Berlin reached the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup and managed to defend the title in the Bundesliga . In the 2018/19 season, Kühner made it to the quarter-finals with the Berliners and became German champions again . Then he ended his career.

Sebastian Kühner is the son of the former GDR national player Roland Kühner . He is 2.03 meters tall and left-handed. In addition to his volleyball career, he completed training as a sports and fitness businessman.
