Sebastian Marek Karpiniuk (born December 4, 1972 in Kołobrzeg , † April 10, 2010 in Smolensk , Russia ) was a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska .

biography

Karpiniuk was an advisor to the mayor of Kołobrzeg.

Since September 25, 2005 he was a member of the “Platforma Obywatelska” party in the Sejm . He was elected from Koszalin constituency 40 with 9767 votes . On April 10, 2010, Karpiniuk died in a plane crash near Smolensk and was buried in the Cmentarz Komunalny (municipal cemetery) in Kołobrzeg. The aircraft, which was approaching the Russian military airfield Smolensk-Nord , crashed for an unexplained cause. It was the plane belonging to Polish President Lech Kaczyński , who was also among the victims.

Posthumously Karpiniuk was the Commander's Cross of the 16 April 2010 Order of Polonia Restituta (Krzyź Komandorski Orderu Rebirth of Poland) awarded.
