Sebastian Krebber

Sebastian Krebber (* 1963 in Cologne ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1982, Krebber began studying law at the University of Trier , and for a time he also studied at King's College London . In 1985 he returned to Trier, where he passed his first state examination in law in 1988. Krebber then went on to study abroad at Georgetown University , where he obtained a Master of Laws in 1990 . He then returned to Germany again to begin his legal clerkship in 1991. He completed this in 1994 with the second state examination. From June 1996 Krebber worked as a research assistant at Rolf Birk's chair in Trier, where he obtained his doctorate in 1997. jur. completed.

From the winter semester 2002/03, Krebber worked as maître de conférences, later as a visiting professor , at the University of Metz , before he completed his habilitation in July 2003 and was awarded the venia legendi for the subjects of civil law, labor law, international private law and comparative law . In the 2003/04 winter semester and the following summer semester, Krebber held a chair at Heidelberg University . In July 2004, he turned down a call to this chair in favor of a call to the University of Luxembourg . Since October 2004 he has held the professorship in "Droit Transnational, orientation principes généraux et sources du droit". In February 2005, he moved to the University of Freiburg as the successor to Manfred Löwisch to the chair for civil law, labor law and social law, which he has held since then. From 2010 to 2012 Krebber was dean of the Freiburg law faculty.
