Sechsämtertropfen is a liqueur made in Germany .
Components
The liqueur has an alcohol content of 33% vol. It gets its taste from extracts from medicinal plants , berries and roots . Rowan berries , the fruit of mountain ash, play a special role . Since 2008 there has also been Sechsämter forest berry liqueur with 28% vol.
Origin and history
The liqueur comes from the Bavarian Fichtelgebirge and was invented by the pharmacist Gottlieb Vetter and sold for the first time in 1895. The name of the drink refers to the six historical administrative districts around the city of Wunsiedel - the Sechsämterland . The spirit has been sold by the company Schwarze & Schlichte in Oelde since 2001 .

The Sechsämtertropfen is consumed extensively by the fictional character "Weber Max" by the Bavarian cabaret artist Gerhard Polt .
