Heiligenhafen pier
The Heiligenhafen pier is a pier on the beach at Heiligenhafen on the Steinwarder peninsula in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein .
History and architecture
Construction of the bridge began in 2011. It stands on 48 steel piles, each 18 meters long . The carriers are made of prestressed concrete produced and for the cladding and the railing was hardwood used. A children's play area, a bathing deck, a coffee bar, public toilets as well as several seating and lounging options are set up on the three differently angled and partly two-storey sections. The Heiligenhafen registry office offers wedding dates in the fully glazed sea lounge . The pier was built as a tourist adventure promenade and is not intended as a pier due to the shallow water . On June 28, 2012, the pier was inaugurated in time for the start of the summer season and in the presence of the Schleswig-Holstein Prime Minister Torsten Albig .
