The sailing club Zeuthen e. V. (SCZ) is a sailing club based in Zeuthen on the west bank of the Zeuthener See .

history

The Zeuthen sailing club can look back on a club history that goes back well over 100 years. From 1884 to 1945 the club's premises housed the Zeuthener Segelverein (ZSV), which moved its headquarters to the Wannensee after the Second World War and is still active there today.

Under the name TSG Oberschöneweide (sailing section), the club was rebuilt in 1951 with 30 to 40 members. From the end of the 1960s, youth work was increasingly promoted. With the boat classes Cadet , 420 and Optimist , a training center was created for the Berlin region. During this time the number of members grew to around 120 and the number of members' boats to 60.

In 1990 the club was founded again and it was given its current name Segelclub Zeuthen. An important reason was the long-term lease agreement with the municipality of Zeuthen . The boathouse, the jetties, the technical systems and the boat material were looked after, cherished, modernized and expanded.

youth

In the youth sector, mainly the 2-man boat class Cadet and especially regatta sailing are trained. The youth of the Zeuthen sailing club are not only active nationally, but have also qualified for a number of international regattas such as European and world championships in the past. In 2011, Pascal Helbig and Jakob Sell from the Zeuthen Sailing Club represented Germany at the World Championships in Kühlungsborn.

In 2011, the club organized the “German Championship” of the Cadets in Blossin on Lake Wolziger .
