The airfield Leibertingen is a Segelfluggelände in Leibertingen in the district of Sigmaringen in Baden-Württemberg . Possible operating modes are winch start , aircraft tow , motor glider and ultralight flight .

history

On May 20, 1961, the first flight took place at the Leibertingen airfield, it was a winch launch of a glider. The hangar was inaugurated in 1964. The first flight day was held in 1972. On March 1, 1975, the Leibertingen flight community was founded by the glider pilots of the Meßkirch and Sigmaringen flight groups. In 1976 a drum winch was built. In 1980 the first airfield festival was celebrated. In 1984 the permanent off-road approval for the runway was granted. In 1988 the topping-out ceremony for the clubhouse could be celebrated. In 2007 the first family kite festival was celebrated. The roof of the old aircraft hangar was renovated in 2010 and a photovoltaic system with 250 amorphous modules was installed there. It has an output of 30 kW. On a good day, 150 kWh can be generated.

Facilities

The fleet includes a launch vehicle (mobile tower with hydraulic lifting device), a 320 HP double drum winch, a Lepo with hydraulic booms and electro-hydraulic ratchet device and a tractor with a cable drum.
