Rope hiking

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When rope walking is referred to in the shaft winding technique a process in which the hauling cable at zweitrümiger promotion due to the different weights of the downfalling and coming up conveyor basket on the cable carrier moves. Cable wandering occurs with all traction sheaves . This process is particularly noticeable in shafts with great depths .

The process

In all shaft hoisting systems with traction sheaves, the hoisting rope runs slightly during driving. The reason for this is the different load conditions in the two rope strands . The rising bucket is usually heavier than the falling bucket. As a result, the uphill section of the rope is more heavily loaded than the downhill section. This in turn has the consequence that the rope section running onto the traction sheave is stretched more than the running rope section. When running over the traction sheave, the hoisting rope creeps back together. As a result, the hoisting rope is continuously shifted in the direction of the more heavily loaded hoisting vessel without slipping . Since the load on the rope strands changes with each hoist train, the rope wandering usually balances out. Little rope hiking does not have a disruptive effect on the operation of the conveyor system. However, due to the differences in the load on the rope strands, which can occur on each layer, the hauling rope will run longer. This also makes rope hiking more noticeable.
