Recent history

At sight

The plant was discovered in 2000 by a Finnish Turkologist .

In 2013, the Council for the Preservation of Cultural and Natural Treasures (Kültür ve Tabiat Varlıklarını Koruma Kurulu) provided a budget of 55,000 TL for restoration and maintenance in order to lease the facility for 10 years following a public tender. The plan provides for the facility to be used as a day trip destination.

In May 2014, the local historian Ramazan Kar complained that due to the lack of development in the ruins, there was regular illegal digging for antiquities and that this must be prevented.

In June 2016, the public tender of the Antalya district for the restoration of the plant took place within 300 days.

In January 2017, the restoration work that had started was interrupted because it was allegedly not carried out properly. At the same time, investigations of mortar samples showed that the system had already been repaired between 1925 and 1930. In addition, the plan, which provided for the protection of the structure against earthquakes and climatic influences, should be revised once more.
