The Selke bridge at Klostermühle is a bridge in the Klostermühle residential area , which belongs to the Mägdesprung district of the city of Harzgerode in Saxony-Anhalt in the Harz region. The former listed stone arch bridge was replaced by a concrete slab bridge in 2017 .

location

The bridge is north of Klostermühle and crossed the Selke . The path from Klostermühle to the Friedenstal valley in the north leads over them . The Selke Valley Railway , which runs along the Selke, passes directly to the north of the bridge .

Architecture and history

The former arch bridge made of basalt slate sheets spanned the Selke with an opening. Until the end of the 19th century, the design was the typical form of bridge construction for the region.

In the local register of monuments , the bridge was listed as a monument under registration number 094 50076 , although it was probably inadvertently referred to as the Julien Bridge , which actually exists further downstream.

In 2016 the bridge was replaced by a new building.
