The Selke bridge at Mägdesprung was a listed bridge over the Selke near the district of Mägdesprung belonging to the town of Harzgerode in Saxony-Anhalt .

It was located in the Selketal in the Harz Mountains a little south of Mägdesprung. To the east of the bridge, federal highway 185 leads from Mägdesprung to Alexisbad . The Selke Valley Railway runs to the west . A forest path branching off from the main road led over the bridge, which then runs west along the Selke and finally leads back onto the main road. It is registered as a bridge in the local register of monuments.

Architecture and history

The two-span arch bridge was built from basalt slate , a design that has been in use since the end of the 18th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, the parapets were replaced as coffered concrete cheeks.

The bridge was in urgent need of renovation. The eastern arch has collapsed in parts and the bridge has been closed. In the meantime the bridge was demolished, in April 2019 only remnants of the masonry remained on the bank.
