Semerskirchen is a district of the Herrngiersdorf municipality in the Kelheim district in Lower Bavaria . Until 1975 it formed an independent municipality.

history

The church in Sanctmarienchirchen is mentioned as early as 1273 . Semerskirchen initially belonged to the Abensberg district court . The municipality of Semerskirchen was formed in 1818/1821 from part of the Herrngiersdorf tax district and assigned to the Rottenburg district court . Apart from Semerskirchen, parts of the community were Harpfendorf, St. Johann, Stumpfreuth, Voggersberg and Tiefenbach.

Since the formation of the district offices, the community has belonged to the Rottenburg district office, which in 1939 became the Rottenburg an der Laaber district . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Semerskirchen came to the municipality of Herrngiersdorf on January 1, 1975. In 1987 Semerskirchen had 71 residents.
