content
Archeology - Professor Chris Schulz gives regular lectures and seminars on the Adlerberg culture at his university . Professors Wienert and Hubschmied ( Friedrich Schoenfelder ) as his superiors warn him against this. The reason: In your opinion, there is insufficient evidence for the existence of such a culture in the Bronze Age and that is why Professor Schulz's statements would damage the academic reputation of the university . Professor Schulz counters that there would be enough evidence if only the relevant excavations were carried out.
Schulz offers to carry out the excavations himself during the semester break and to provide the required evidence personally. After betting his position as a professor, he drives, accompanied by his assistant Ellen, in a Land Rover via Austria , Yugoslavia and Bulgaria to Romania , always following the theory of a 4,000 year old trade route from Worms to the Black Sea .
In order to achieve his goal, he cancels his vacation with his fiancée, exposes himself to the constant ridicule of Ellen, ventures into dangerous places, messes with local authorities everywhere and allies himself with the seedy dropout Paul whom he picked up on the way. who is overtaken by his past at the end of the journey.
Schulz risks falling mountain climbing , drowning in caves, going to court, being stoned by villagers, dying in explosions and being kicked out by criminals. Until the end he is disappointed again and again, because he either finds nothing or the wrong thing, but he acts steadfastly according to his convictions.
His fate is decided in the double episode at the end of the series . On the last day of the deadline, he must become a thief and compete with criminals to prove his theory and not become unemployed.
main actor
- Gerhart Lippert as Professor Schulz
- Anne Stegmann as institute assistant Ellen
- Raimund Harmstorf as Paul who dropped out
Gerhard Lippert was a well-known TV series actor. Raimund Harmstorf played a likable, hippie dropout here and spoke here (unlike in his role as a violent " sea wolf ") with his own voice. He had a North German accent that was more reminiscent of actors from the Ohnsorg Theater than of the protagonist he played in the novel Der Seewolf by Jack London .
Brigitte Mira played in a supporting role (Professor Kaiser) the critic of Professor Schulz. Other supporting actors include Günther Kieslich and Friedrich Schoenfelder .
