The transmitter Kum is a transmitter of the Radiotelevizija Slovenija for radio, television and telecommunication purposes on the 1220 meter high Kum mountain , south of the city of Trbovlje .
history
Beginnings
The Kum transmitter went into operation in May 1957 and initially broadcast a VHF program with a 25-meter-high transmission tower. He primarily supplied the Zasavska region .
First expansion
The first expansion of the transmission system followed in 1960 : In addition to the construction of a new 60-meter high transmission tower, the transmission of an additional radio program and a television program began.
Destruction and rebuilding
During the Slovenian War of Independence in 1991, the transmitter was badly damaged twice, and the reconstruction of the transmitter tower began a year later.
