history

Entrance to Radio Bremen

The five-storey broadcasting center was built in 2007/08 for Radio Bremen and the Stephani-Haus property development company according to plans by the architects Böge Lindner Architekten from Hamburg. It is located in a sensitive urban area in the vicinity of the historic Stephanikirche and the building of the Chamber of Architects (Am Geeren 41). An all-round glass facade and a cantilever on the upper floors above the entrance area characterize the design of the building.

Architects and buildings were awarded the BDA Bremen Prize in 2010 .

The jury for the BDA competition in Bremen wrote: “The jury expressly welcomes the stipulation of the competition, according to which the historical city layout is to be respected when building the new quarter. Through this measure, the ensemble of 3 blocks / buildings is subdivided in a concise way .... The glass facade is remarkably "deep" and "multilayered". There are particularly interesting reflections and refractions where the building meets historical building fabric on the back. "

Bronze
Loriot sofa

The sofa from the television series Loriot produced by Radio Bremen has been in the foyer of the station since 2011. A bronze replica of the Loriot sofa with bronze pug by the artist Herbert Rauer from Osnabrück was unveiled in front of the entrance in 2013.

The central administration and broadcasting areas of Radio Bremen are housed in the building. Transitions made of steel and glass connect the central building with the two neighboring houses on two upper levels. The Bremedia production is located in the neighboring building Great Road 2nd
