Positions

As rapporteur for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, Sepp Müller was responsible for implementing the amendment to the fourth EU money laundering directive. As part of the legislative process, he was able to ensure that German companies have access to the digital interfaces of technical payment services. This has strengthened the German banking industry and German fintechs, which had previously been denied access. Apple tried to the last to influence the legislative process.

Against the background of the federal government's decentralization strategy, Müller repeatedly criticized the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) in Dessau-Roßlau. He warns of the erosion of the site in Dessau, as only a few events take place at the headquarters and the authorities are rarely on site.

Müller speaks out in favor of changing the Federal Nature Conservation Act to allow so-called problem wolves for hunting. He wants to counter the problem of animal tears by wolves in the constituency of Dessau-Wittenberg. He therefore supports the federal government's draft law, which is supposed to allow wolves to be removed even if it is not known which animal in the pack is responsible for cracks.

In the constituency of Dessau-Wittenberg, Müller is involved in tree-planting campaigns for reforestation and climate protection. On October 3, 2019, he and volunteers planted 500 new trees in the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm.
