Sepp Redl

Sepp Redl (born September 17, 1944 in Vienna ) is an Austrian sports educator. From 1982 to 2009 he was head of physical education and physical education in the Austrian Ministry of Education and editor of several non-fiction books on physical education . He is considered to be an essential developer of the curricula for the subject of "exercise and sport" in Austrian schools.

Life

Sepp Redl completed a teacher training course and then completed a doctorate in education . In addition, he was able to complete training in the field of sports teaching for skiing and tennis.

Sepp Redl had been a lecturer at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of Vienna since 1974 . In addition to regular participation in national and international specialist discussions and congresses, Sepp Redl was also an organizer in Austria due to his membership in international associations "Physical Education, Sports Teaching and Health Promotion" in the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture in Vienna.

He earned merit in spreading the Olympic idea in schools for the Austrian Olympic Committee . In the area of snow sports teaching, he still holds national and international functions, for example as President of Interski-Austria. In sports science he was the editor-in-chief of the international trade journal “Bewegungserbildung” (formerly “physical exercises-physical education”), which lasted almost 25 years, as well as supervising the series “theory and practice”.
